Over the past 2+ years, our own Jeffrey Wolfson, Chief Strategic Officer/CMO has been a major contributor for two landmark studies regarding the obesity epidemic facing the U.S. today. Both studies are critical components of the Hudson Institute’s Obesity Solutions Initiative, which seeks to bring about practical, market-oriented solutions to the problem.
The first study focuses on the Consumer Packaged Foods Industry, while the second focuses on the Restaurant Industry (including both quick-serve and full serve chains).

Gifts Galore! HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE held at the Fort Group.
Donations of unwrapped toys for children ages 3 to 17 were collected by the FORT Group staff over the past couple of weeks and donated to the Central Ward Community Group for their holiday children’s party on December 16th. CWCG is a Newark-based charity that supports, organizes and provides activities for children within the Central Ward District of Newark New Jersey. One of our staff members (Jerry Putruele) donates time to this very worthy organization and we’re proud to help support this charity and his efforts.

It’s all about the work. The FORT Group was pleased to attend the 2012 NJ Ad Club Awards Ceremony at the Chart House in Weehawken, NJ where a select group of agencies were recognized for work created in the 2011 calendar year. It was quite an impressive array of creative samples, proving that in today’s ever-changing marketplace, you have to be willing to think outside the box to cut through the clutter. Congratulations to all the winners and a special shout out to our clients whose work was recognized:
Perma-Seal - 1st place in the “Out of Home Advertising” category AND “Best Of” the “Out of Home Advertising” category!
Gold Eagle / Diesel Formula STA-BIL – 1st place in the “TV Advertising/Regional-National Spot” category.
Marvin Windows and Doors – 1st place in the “Digital Media/Miscellaneous” category for “Architect’s Challenge Case Study Video – Santa Rosa, CA”, 2nd place in the “Collateral/Direct Marketing-Package, High-Impact with Premium” category for “Painted Interior White Finish”, 3rd place in the “Collateral/All Print, Multi-Media Campaign” category for “Dozen” and 3rd place in the “Collateral/Direct Marketing-Self-Mailer, Single Piece, 4/C” category for “Glider.”
At FORT, our calling card is “Solutions that Inspire.” What inspires us are organizations such as the ARC of Bergen & Passaic Counties and the countless number of individuals they serve. So when given the opportunity to participate in the 2012 Step Up For The ARC Walk, we jumped at the chance. The perfect weather capped off a great day, where our team raised just over $2,000! Thanks to all who donated and especially those who “pounded the pavement” for this worthwhile cause. Go T.E.A.M! http://www.arcbergenpassaic.org/index.html

The FORT Group recently had the opportunity to be a part of the American Cancer Society “Relay for Life” Golf Tournament held at Walden Oaks Country Club in Cortland, NY. A great event for a great cause.
As a member of the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce, the FORT Group has sought to foster relationships that will enhance our business, as well as our community involvement. As part of this affiliation, the Chamber recently asked our own Jeff Wolfson, Chief Marketing Officer, to author an article for their Meadowlands USA Magazine (here is a link to the published article).
Graduate Credits St. John’s Roots for Successful Career
Even before Steven Laux ‘94SVC attended his first class at St. John’s University, he was well on the way to shaping his future. Executive Vice President at The FORT Group, a marketing and production company based in northern New Jersey, Steven always knew he would work in the media. “I was a TV kid. I loved movies and music, and wanted to parlay that into a career,” he said.
Steven has been with The FORT Group since 1994. Today, he is not only actively involved in all the production work done there; he is also responsible for molding the company’s creative vision — bridging the gaps between clients and staff.
Don’t get me wrong, I truly appreciate the connectivity a mobile device provides me throughout the course of a day, pretty much anywhere I happen to be. However, maybe you, like me, are longing for simpler times. Perhaps it speaks to my generation, but the ability to “drop off the grid” for a while seems more and more challenging nowadays. Are we addicted to being “on” all the time? The latest figures on mobile technology penetration suggest indeed we are.
What better way to capture the attention of potential customers in the busy Chicagoland area, then with a provocative outdoor billboard? Developed for Perma-Seal, this campaign was designed to drive leads…plain and simple.
While Perma-Seal has advertised in the outdoor realm before, this concept was somewhat of a departure for them.
The Integrity App is now available for download at Apple’s App Store. Designed exclusively for iOS devices, this project represents an exciting new service offering from the FORT Group.
